What are Incontinence Pads???

An Incontinence pad is a small impermeable multi-layered sheet with high absorbency that is used in the health-care industry. Incontinence bed pads are usually placed on a bed under a patient as a precaution against incontinence. Incontinence pads can be laundered and reused many times or disposable.

Incontinence pads are manufactured in light and heavy grades for different types of Incontinence. The light grades can be manufactured worldwide, but heavy grades are too bulky to make long-distance transport economic. Therefore most developed countries are likely to maintain facilities for manufacturing heavy incontinence pads.

Unlike sanitary towels that are used to soak up the blood that comes out of a women’s vagina an Incontinence Pad can be used by men and women to absorb urine.

These sorts of pads can come as panty-liners, inserts, pads or even as replacement underwear and are usually worn in combination with a pair of nets/fixation pants.

What is a Diaper or All-in-One???
An adult diaper is a diaper made to be worn by an adult. Diapers become necessary for adults who suffer from various conditions, such as incontinence, mobility impairment, or dementia and although incontinence isnt an illness as such it is usually the symptom of another illness. Adult diapers are made in various forms, including those resembling traditional child diapers, underpants, and pads resembling sanitary napkins (Rectangular Pads, Dry Line Inserts).

In the medical community, professionals are trained to use terms such as “briefs” rather than diapers for the sake of dignity, as the term “diapers” is associated with children and may have a negative connotation. In practice, though, most health care workers are accustomed to calling them diapers.
